    Hi guys hope someone can help me as at this time I'm dead in the water.

    I have just bought a Q7 and the steering wheel doesn't go in or out up or down,I have looked at the codes and it says the Steering control module is incorrectly programmed can anyone give me the correct value. There are loads of other codes but they all come down to this module.

    I live in Burma and there are NO dealers i can take it to so you guys are my only chance to get this info.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Welcome to VWAF.

    Does that program you're using allow you to code? If so it should give you the coding values and the options to pick from.

    This is from rosstech if you were using vcds unlike that program you're currently using.

    Coding module 16 - steering wheel.

    0?xxxxx: Model
    0 = Left Hand Steering
    1 = Right Hand Steering
    0x?xxxx: Steering Column Adjustment
    +1 = Electric Steering Column Adjustment
    +2 = Lane Departure Warning
    0xx?xxx: Steering Wheel
    0 = Standard Steering Wheel
    1 = Sport Steering Wheel
    2 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel
    0xxx?xx: Tiptronic & Heating
    +1 = with Tiptronic
    +2 = with Steering Wheel Heating
    0xxxx?x: Board Computer / Cruise Control System (CCS) / Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    0 = No Board Computer - No Cruise Control System (CCS) - No Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    1 = with Board Computer
    2 = with Cruise Control System (CCS)
    3 = with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    4 = with Board Computer and Cruise Control System (CCS)
    5 = with Board Computer and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    0xxxxx?: Chassis
    1 = Sedan
    2 = Avant (with Rear Wiper)

    What about Steering Wheel adjustment, tiptronic and heating, and do you have the DIS computer on your dash board?

    By the way, what do you mean when it doesn't move up and down? Electronically or manually?

    Right mate that's done the trick its programed and all the codes have gone from the Engine etc.

    Before it wouldn't move at all(auto or with buttons)
    Now it moves in and out with the buttons but NOT up and down also it still doesn't move automatically when you insert or remove the key.

    I have gone to the Central Electronics and activated it but can only find the code to tell it to move in and out.

    I have found this but it doesn't work (I think its for an A6 ) so that might be the reason.
    [Select]
    [09 - Central Electronics]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 001
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
    The adjustment should now be learned.
    [Done, Go Back]
    [Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

    So all sorted now? if not perhaps the switch for adjustment is faulty?

    MVB 06 & 07 maybe something to view Link:- Audi Portal: ECU Diagnostic . Audi Q7 4L (2007- ) . Steering Wheel J527

    Pin outs for switch on module Link:- Audi Portal: ECU Diagnostic . Audi Q7 4L (2007- ) . Steering Wheel J527

    Final control diagnosis doesn't seem to cover the aspect of movement Link:- Audi Portal: ECU Diagnostic . Audi Q7 4L (2007- ) . Steering Wheel J527

    By your screenshot it looks like your using a VAS 5054a head?

    No mate its still the same. Only moves in and out,and doesn't work automatically.

    Ye is 5054 picked it up in China a few weeks ago.

    I have tested the switch (to the best of my ability 2 lives and an earth) one is the on/off button one is the switch signal.

    I thought if it was just the switch it would still work with the key?

    I cant test know as its 7pm and the car is locked away plus if i start playing again on a sat night the with will string me up
