Voice recognition issue

My 3lt Allroad has voice recognition (i think) but dosnt seem to work, after reading the manual if i press the right 'speaker' button on the s/wheel i get a beep and when i say "help" it reads through a list of phone commands, it seems to understand the word 'help', 'cancel', and 'call' but absalutly nothing else, unless i swear at her and then she says "pardon"!! lol

Any ideas how i get it to work with the radio, cd and nav?

or is it more work than its worth, is there a programm to your voice setting or anything i have missed?

Unless you have full SDS which I doubt then you only have control over the phone. If you had full SDS she would say all the other options too.

I don't use it, total waste of time and its quicker going into the phone via the mode button in the steering wheel.

I fear it might just be the phone thats loaded and i will need some patience one wet wintery evening.

Sometimes if you speak slowly she understands a bit better but I still find it quicker and easier going through the mmi or mode button.

Personally I like it & find it useful. Each to their own though, but why not try it & decide if you find it useful. Try saying "store name" when it beeps the first time.
