    Hi chaps

Ordered a new A4 Avant 2.0T Quattro Stronic Black Edition in Daytona Grey (that's a mouth full!) today from DriveTheDeal.com. After this site's help I have ordered the following extras:

    Heated Seats
    Hill hold
    Tyre monitor
    Parking system plus

I didn't bother with the Technology Pack as I couldn't justify the cost when I have a very good SatNav on my phone (tomtom) and neither full leather for the same reason.

For a shade under £30k I think that's a good deal, it's about £7.5k off the RRP without haggling using DtD. Only downside its penciled in for delivery for mid-November and my lease car goes back on 17 October. I am looking at hiring a crappy car or something for the remaining time but that is £450+ for a month...any suggestions?

Now the wait begins. Thanks for you guys help me pick the options.

    Cheers

Excellent news, hopefully the time flies in and you're not waiting too long!

DTD and other brokers offer very good prices and for that reason that's why I'm maybe thinking new instead of used when I come to change the car, how have they been?

Re the rental, I think Enterprise and Avis do long term rental with a good discount. A colleague of mine has had an Enterprise car out for the last month now so I'll ask her in the morning if I bump into her about price etc.

So far DtD have been fine, they only act as a introducer to a UK dealer somewhere - the dealer then takes over and pays them a small commission. DtD are highly recommended online especially by Honest John from the Telegraph.

If you can get a price for a rent that would be great - thanks!

You don't get to choose your dealer - DtD choose it for you based on their best discount. My dealer happens to be Carlisle.

Would it be rude to show Audi the quote from a broker and see if they would match or beat it?

Been thinking of doing this but I think it would be very cheeky!

3 years ago , when I bought my A3 I used a DtD quote from a dealer the other end of the country to "negotiate" with my previously less than interested local dealer. Ended up saving over 17% on total deal, well worth it and supported a local dealer too!
A3 Sportback 2010, 140 TDI Sport, Adaptive lights, Open sky roof. Interior light pack. Comfort Pack. Garnet Red with 5 Arm dynamic alloys.

    Her indoors -
EOS Sport TDI 2007. Xenons and Leather.

Not at all - I did this with my local dealer in Peterborough but they couldn't match it. So I just said thanks but no thanks and promptly ordered through DtD. Audi Carlisle have rung and are placing the order for me. I don't really care where the car comes from, after sales is another matter.

When I ordered my A6 in June I just told the dealer the quote I'd received from Orange Wheels (didn't have a print-out or anything). He went off to talk to his boss for a minute and they agreed to match the price - no fuss at all.
