VW Bora 1.9tdi PD 130 starting problems & boost dropping

Had a few earthing issues with my VW Bora 1.9TDI PD 130 (2005) which caused all my dashboard lights to flicker. Cleaned the earths and all was good. Now when I go to start my car the car will struggle to start. It will try to start, cut out.. and if I keep the key on trying to start, it will eventually kick in and start? Just tried a new battery and same issue.

Second issue, it may be related i'm not sure. When I accelerate in 2nd gear I can hear my car dropping boost as if i've let go of the accelerator.. when I haven't.

Car has covered 110k miles by the way and is 100% standard.

Sounds like a timing problem but you need to see an expert and get it diagnosed

Get a diagnostic scan for the boost. Poor starting could be the anti shudder valve beside the egr check its working properly. Make sure the air and fuel filters are clean and check all the pipes for cracks and splits on the induction side. I think it's the anti shudder valve
