Golf Mk6 Tornado red -any issues with colour?

Many years ago we had a Mk2 Golf in red and the colour faded badly and went pink. Now thinking of getting a Mk6 in red but worried about the colour. Have the problems been fixed or is it likely it will fade again?

most paint cars these days have a clear coat to stop fading,

Tornado red/Mars red has always been subject to oxidisation and fading but this is easily prevented by proper treatment of the paintwork with a good shampoo, and sealant. For some reason this colour doesn't seem to wear as well as others, but there are plenty examples of cars in this hue which look great many years on.

There a number of good paintwork sealants out there, some are only available for professional application, but these best IMO is available for you to apply yourself. I'll be using in on my Sunset Red Golf Mk.7 when I get it in October.
