    Hi all,

Picked up my A8 (D4 4.2 tdi) yesterday and could not be more pleased. It's awesome, drove it the 150 miles home with a big smile, especially when flicking through the MMI I discovered it had Night Vision, even though that was not in the spec. Lovely!

However, I think the dealer may not have loaded the latest versions of the MMI firmware and the nav maps as promised, the MMI will not talk to my iPhone 5 using the red cable and Apple lightning adaptor (could not establish a connection) and the nav did not recognise a number of fairly recent junctions.

How do I check the versions for these - I do not have a version option in the car systems menu?

    Help much appreciated.

    Cheers.

From brief memory, if you hit the car button then look for Systems or Settings in one of the inner buttons you should see Version Information somewhere in there.

You should also have a look/search in the A6 C7 and A7 sections as these cars share the same nav system when it comes to the Touch.

Is the lightening converter genuine or aftermarket?

Remember the nav will use the previous years maps so even though a 2013 pack will be loaded, it will be using the maps from 2012.

    Chris,

Many thanks, found it. For any others looking, it was in Menu / MMI settings (top right) then version information.

Now just need to see if the versions I have are the most recent.

    Cheers

    Hi Keith

I have the red cable with a lightning adapter and it works fine with my iPhone 5. If you want me to let you know my MMI firmware version on my 2013 model let me know.

    Hi,

It could be that I had pretty old firmware. My car was in the dealer today to update the nav maps to the 2013 versions and the update of those plus the MMI firmware required took about 10 hours in total Makes Windows seem positively speedy.

So my car was finally delivered back to me at about 9pm tonight and haven't had time to check out the new maps or see if the firmware update has fixed my iphone 5 issue. Will check while I'm on hols.
Thanks for the offer - it would definitely be interesting to see if we now have the same versions.

    Keith
