Blimey, look what I started......

So the bottom line for my SE saloon,PFL, DVD NAV, MMI 2G high - BUT NO FACTORY PHONE at all = no shark fin. Because of no phone.

My car has MMI 3G, Nav and Phone but it doesn't have a shark fin?

It's not a UK model but I'm guessing the theory should be sound for all car?

Edit... Just thinking about it - is it because it's Bluetooth it uses the phones GSM connection and there's no need for a separate antenna? Hence the GPS is in the windscreen and for GSM it uses the phone?

My 07 SE has MMi high with colour screen and nav but no factory fit bluetooth and no phone prep but I have a sharkfin.

It does have a parrot handsfree kit and think the chrome sharkfin was retrofitted at the same time the chrome mirror covers were added.
