    Hi, new poster here,

I've just taken delivery of an A6 SE, basic model, no extras (good deal on a contract hire).

According to Audi's brochures (and the contract hire company's web site), this car should have DAB as standard but I don't see it when I go into the MMI menu - I only see "FM AM & LW"

The dealer says I need to take the car somewhere where there's DAB coverage but receivers in the house work fine on DAB so I'm pretty sure I'm covered here!

The car supports A2DP from my iPhone so from looking through other forum posts this would seem to suggest it's pretty much the latest model?

Can anyone with a similar spec tell me if I'm doing something wrong here or should DAB automatically appear on the Wavelength menu?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

When was the car built? DAB was only standard from Model Year 2014 going by posts on here.

You can find this on the data sticker in your spare wheel well or front page of the service book.

DAB only became standard fit in the April brochure, which didn't come visible on line until mid-May and it wasn't available in my local showroom even then. They were still handing out copies of the October pricelist. When I was recently pricing a new A6 I had to include it as a £305 extra (QV3). They added power tailgate for the estate at the same time, but still have the brass neck to charge £235 for folding mirrors. The price went up a bit at the same time so if you ordered before about mid May, or if it is an older build ex-stock model you may not have it on your car. Considering a 12 week lead time, I'm guessing no-one has got it as standard yet.

Looking at the brochure won't help much, it depends on when your car was built. If your car is model year 13 DAB is not standard, it became standard from my14.

A2DP permits music to be played using a BT. This will work irrespective of the model year so isn't much of a guide.

Many thanks to all that replied,

Looks like it's an older model than the contract hire company were making out then. I mentioned the A2DP because I'd seen people complaining about the lack of it on Audis and (wrongly!) assumed that this feature had been added at the same time as DAB becoming standard.

I've looked at the service booklet but there's no obvious manufacture date that I can see, unless anyone can decode "A6 Limo TDI2.0 R4 130KW M6" ?

Post the label up minus your chassis number or the sticker in the spare wheel well.

Okay it's not on that one.

Try the one in your spare wheel well. Take tyre etc out.
