I removed my front bumper to fit a new grill / refitted it OK but would like to reduce the RED LINE GAP in Gups picture. (should be 5mm is 8mm)

I think that the two outside red boxes are the adjustment points, but how ?

Not sure but are the bolts captive in the bumper and so by backing them out some that raises the bumper hight??

    Hi Roy ...

In 'How to...' I placed this image ... I've just redrafted some of the text in there and will improve photos by added ref numbers to images then place in text ...

The green lined gaps main adjustment is done by the green boxed element, the red lined gaps main adjustment is by the red boxed element ...

You'll find if you move the red element two high the bumper will not fit over the green element they need to be adjusted together but the finer adjustment of each gap is done via each separate element ...

Here's a close up of the red element ...

Unscrewing it upwards closes gap at red lines, screwing it down does opposite ...

Same principle with the green box element ...

Unscrew move up to close gap, move down to create gap ... the marking lines in above image were not the same on each side of bumper but allowed some rough points to adjust elements on both sides against ...

    Thanks for that Gups.

If I read this correctly, I will have to remove the bumper to adjust these screws.

Are those adjusters left hand thread ?

Yes ... that's why I lubed the clip system where bumper meet wing ...

You sorta of get a nack for the adjusters after 2+ remove/adjust/refit bumper ...

Trust me it was painstaking when I sorted the headlights and bumpers ... in the 'How to ...' I put a happy slant on thread but the real reason was someone f'd the front end gaps after removing & refitting them for some work on the car and I sorted it as they were mucking me about saying your car has damage/the clips will break/ etc, etc ...

Me & my offspring were delighted to show them our handy work to say is this the same car/parts you said couldn't be aligned ...

Done it without removing the bumper. I took the brackets off that hold the adjusting screws, screwed the adjusting screws out (left hand thread), refitted the bracket, closed the hood and measured the gap.
I had to do this a couple of times but a lot quicker than having to take the whole bumper off. Now bang on 5mm.
It's easy when someone tells you what to do.
Thanks Gups for all of your help.
