I have been reading on the TDI forum about diesel purging liquid. Basically you buy this super lliquid, connect it straight into the fuel system (by passing the fuel filter) and going into the injectors cleaning them of carbon.

Has anyone heard or this or done this? Did it work? Does it put the lift pump seals at risk?

Pint of petrol to half a tank of diesel once a month does the same thing which isn't much any more I suspect. It helped old style diesels with mechanical pumps for sure

Yes I do that, years ago the old boys all said to put in petrol about once a month. In those days diesel was dirty and had water in it. You never hear anyone draining the fuel filter any more. This would be done monthly years ago. Realistically if there's crap in your fuel lines, injectors etc you really don't want to suck it into your engine or blow it into the blades of your turbo. I do it because old dogs can't manage new tricks
