    Hi to everyone,

This is my first post on the forum and I'm hoping that I'm in the right place for some help.

I have just bought a 2010 A4 Avant 2.0 Tdi in the U.K. I live in France so I will need to do something about the headlights. One solution is to buy new ones but a U.K. Audi dealer quoted me in the region of £1200 for this so I'm looking for a plan B. Trawling through Google there does not seem to be a definitive answer to whether or not it's possible to change the dip beam to make it suitable for driving on the right. Some suggest that it's possible to do it electronicaly others say that there is a lever inside the light which can be moved.

Any help with this would be much appreciated. The lights are not Xenon.

    Welcome to VWAF

You can use the beam converters which you can stick on the lens but not sure if it would pass a Contrôle Technique with these on.

Another solution would to buy second hand headlamps in France and fit them.

Unfortunately stickers are not acceptable for the Controle Technique. As the car is less than four years old it doesn't need a Controle Technique do register it but the merde will hit the fan next year!

Yep, I guess those would do the job. I'd still like to know if it is possible to change the dip beam.

Just xenons as the lenses are different on the halogen cars. Different beam pattern for LHD and RHD.

Thanks for the input. It would appear that I will have to get some new ones before the Controle Technique next year.
