    Hi,

I cant get my Iphone working through the MMi/AMI on my Audi Q7 (57 plate) so i can play music.
The Bluetooth connection to the iphone works ok and i can make and receive calls in the car.

The cable is plugged into the car (under the arm rest) and when i connect my iphone to it, it simply doesn't come up.

This same iphone worked on my A6 56 plate.

I have the 2g MMI High system.

Do i need to update anything or can anyone tell me how ot get it working please?

    Thanks.

Do you have AMI or AUX?

Have you pressed Source in the MEDIA menu?

AMI. Not tried it through the AUX.
The connection is under the arm rest for the AMI.

Yes, once iphone plugged in, i go to Media then choose source. I can then choose between CD or Interface. CD works but when i click on interface it says no device found (or something along those lines).

Which cable are you using, does it have any coloured collars around the AMI end?

Could you post a pic as I've never seen the AMI location in a Q7 before, bit odd under the armrest! nvm just googled it

It wouldn't hurt to get a fault code scan, the unit could be faulty. Have you tried any other devices?

Cable is black. I have also tried the cable with the blue around the collar. Neither work. Used a portable Code reader and nothing comes up.
will get a pic taken later on (once wife back with car!!)

Ideally you would need vcds to scan it, if you look at the map in my signature there should be someone in your area willing to help.

Have you tried any other devices? USB stick etc?

Thats no good! Have a look anyway, no harm in scanning anyway just incase.

Could you remove the AMI unit and check the connections at the rear?

No, im not very practical to be honest!!... was hoping a software update might be the answer - i work in IT - so would feel much easier doing this then anything practical!!

Also, noticed that a couple of the buttons on the mmi are stiff/sticking.

I would be trying this Important ami update online DOWNLOAD and theres no harm in trying.

You will need your AMI->USB lead tho and a USB drive.

My MMI buttons stick, particularly the TEL button, done it ever since I got the car in 2009 and have just learned to live with it!
