Wing mirrors - retractable or not?

Hello!

I have an A3 convertible (2010), which is lovely, but to my great disappointment there is no electronic facility for retracting the wing mirrors. They look as though they should move, so is it ok to force them manually?

Any advice would be received gratefully!! Thanks in anticipation!

I would have thought that they would "push in" like the non-convertible version. I have a 2005 sportback, so I don't have real experience of your 2010 convertible I'm afraid. Mine are initially quite stiff (as they click into place when retracted), but do push in like these:

Try giving yours a nudge towards the driver's window, I find it best to stand behind the wing mirror and push them in.

Yes they do. I think the newer 10+ cars fold up whereas the <2010 cars fold in.

Give it a nudge with your hip, nothing will break .. Well maybe your hip!

Thanks to both of you!! It did work - I really should be a bit braver and just go for it a bit more often!!
