I've been experiencing brakes going hard when pressing the brake pedal so decided to check the servo hose which goes from the servo to the vacuum pump.
There is a vacuum pipe which tees off the servo hose. Can anyone tell me where the other end of this pipe connects to as its currently hanging loose.

Pedal going hard can be caused by water in the plenum chamber rusting the servo. Test it by pumping the brakes with the engine off until the pedal gets hard. Keep your foot on the brake and start the engine, if the pedal stays hard it's probably the servo a fun Saturday morning project!

I know this is somewhat an old thread but if its anything similar to my AVB type engine the small vacuum pipe that tees off from the brake servo tube supplies the N18 solenoid valve with vacuum. Leaking that vacuum would have the effect of loosing servo assist on your brakes but should also cause the car to go into limp mode as the turbo and EGR valve are controlled using that same vacuum.
