Key working and programmed to car but still remote locking wont work

If you find it dump under the carpet take the CCM out of the black box,let it dry by opening the CCM box carefully,refit and try again,also under the bonnet take the plastic cover off the pollen filter and battery,check for drainage blockages by dirt and leaves etc clear it,check fro cracked pollen filter housing.If there is no wet or dumpness then try resyncing as Chris said.

Try the resyncing first, could save a lot of hassle.

By the way,just because I work for an Audi dealer won`t make me a Guru,could`ve been a spotty little apprentice who delt with it.

You don't need a laptop to synch the key anyway

I'm guessing a new key was matched to the car and the resync with the central locking wasn't done.

Sorry I wasn't as clear as I could have been. The guy tried syncing the key a couple of different ways and because they didnt work then he reprogrammed it using the laptop. The program said that the car has accepted the key but the key still would not work

It's the same key ie had since owning the car and it worked fine when I first got it. One day it just stopped working
