    hi there,
i have a 1993 vw transporter t4 1.9d which has served me great so far until yesterday! Unfortunately the timing belt has snapped which the ever so helpful rac bloke told me, may have led to engine damage. Is there anyone out there who could tell me whether i should be going straight to a garage or can i start to tackle the job myself given that i have ne reference to where the pulleys should be aligned?

Any suggestions would be muchos appreciated!!!

if ur timing belt has broke , then in regardless of wat speed u were doing , u have bent a few valves either replace the head , valves or if u get a cheap engine, but best is if u replace the valves , atleat u know wat work u have done to ur engine, if u need valves , i have some !

    hello bling 69,
Thanx for the suggestion. I was hoping to just replace the belt correctly and go from there but i guess it could be a much bigger job then? I feared the worst! Will report back as soon as i know plan of action.
