I only noticed the other day that when browsing around the engine bay checking things over (as you do) that there is no cover over the top of the engine. I would have expected to see the VW logo with TSI in large letters ?? Does any TSI GT owners have a cover fitted or does the GT not have one, and there is no GT badge on the grill either. Any pictures ??? Cheers all.

I have the Mk6, not really helpful I know, but mine has a cover as shown in the handbook, what does your handbook show.
They stopped putting the GT badge on the grill with the mk6.

No engine cover on ours. In fact I prefer to be able to see the oily bits rather than a sea of plastic. No GT badge on the front either, although can't say I've seen any pictures of cars with one. Sounds like nothing missing then

Can one of you post a pic of the engine without the cover, I too would prefer not to have it, but thought without it would just be a mess of wires and pipes, not like the good old twin cams of yesteryear. Why don't manufacturers fit engines with polished rocker covers anymore?

Don't forget the covers also hold sound deadening.

    Vital IMO on Diesel engines...

Plus, some have aerodynamic features for certain components.
