Ok hopefuly the rears will be the same, not too fussed about the front as the abs part is ok its the brake sensor part thats been cut but i can sort that with a block, but both rear abs cables have been cut in the past and rejoined with connectors that have corroded and i think this is whats causing abs light to come on, both sensors replaced so think im gonna get new cables if they aint too much.

If you have enough cable, tin the ends, solder the cables and use shrink wrap to waterproof the joints. costs pennies

All sorted, car was in garage 6 months ago for abs lights on, ended up having new 2nd hand abs pump and a rear sensor which was £60 on its own. Last month abs lights on again so i got vag.com and scanned it and it picked up the other rear sensor and a wiring fault so when i changed all the discs i had a look to find that it seems as if both rear sensor cables have been replaced as they both had been cut an connected with bullet connectors which wernt in the best condition and neither were the plugs on the ends. I got another sensor off ebay for £6 and 2 new cables from VW at £45 each , fitted them and soldered the end of the wire back into the loom and shrink wrapped them, cleared faults and all good.
