Morrisons Portsmouth have just suspended a worker for wearing a Help the Heroes poppy pin. How sick is that?

BBC News - York Mosque praised for offering EDL protesters tea

Call me a hippy, but if (most/some) people just put their prejudice aside for 5 minutes, they might start to see the world in a completely different light.

That is a prime example of seeing the individual rather than the whole, it won't happen at every mosque but there are those it will happen at and afterwards all concerned will have a different opinion and outlook on each other.

he hasn't been suspended because of the topic, it's the fact he broke company policy and then refused to do what the manager had to tell him what to do, this is another prime example of how bent the media is, they have whipped it up against Morrisons yet all Morrisons are doing is following health and safety rules for food stores, if that badge came away and dropped into the meat counter or any other product that was on open display and contaminated the product would anyone find that acceptable

The only thing wrong here is that he didn't follow what the manager asked and that perhaps a better solution could've been invoked, but that wouldn't have happened on the day as shirts with HTH on them would need printing etc, if you take the emotion out of it he's just been a silly boy and played the teacher up and it's backfired on him,

Expect Morrisons to do something along the lines of support for HTH soon and I doubt the lad will lose his job or face any sort of action, more like be told why he couldn't wear it and to do as he's told in future.

Thank for your post DSG a great summation of the real situation, to me this further shows we must analyse and put in context all "information" ...

I just hope it is being done across the board for all employees of all beliefs/faiths/backgrounds wearing items which don't conform to H&S otherwise inequality and alienation will grow ...

An amateur group of Islamic film makers have posted a video on YouTube which mocks Christianity and Jesus Christ. It is believed to be so offensive that St Peter's church in Shrewsbury have postponed their tea and cake morning until next Wednesday, and Dorothy Green from Margate has written in to Points of view. When will the madness end?

Do you have anything intelligent to add to this debate or not?

    Brilliant !

If it were the other way round, as we know and has happened, parts of the world would be on fire.
