    Hi all
When the CC first came out, I wanted to buy one, however I never had enough money for a new one.
Now I do have some money and I've seen this on AutoTrader.
    Volkswagen Passat Cc 3.6 V6 SPORT FSI 4MOTION 4DR DSG + SAT NAV 2008
It's almost the spec. I would have ordered if I was buying a new one.
Since I've only just started looking I probably won't buy that one (unless it's still not sold after a few weeks and I can haggle the price down ), but it does pose some questions that I've not found answers to.
    1. VR6 and high mileage - If looked after properly how does a VR6 cope with lots of miles? Would it be unreasonable to expect a VR6 to last over (say) 250K miles?
    2. DSG - AFAIK in the CC it's a 6 speed wet plate that needs regular oil/filter changes at 40K. Again what sort of life would be expected from properly maintained gearbox?

Are there any other things I should be aware of in a CC?
    TIA

A bit of my car history. I previously owned a MK4 Golf V5 150bhp auto. When it was working it was good, but it got to a stage where I would have to spend twice as much money as it was worth to keep it going. I'm currently in a 407 estate oil burner. It's a nice car with lots of gadgets (that all work) but it's dull and doesn't really go with my driving style.

3.6 V6 is one of the better engines from VW as its a tried and tested engine with revisions along the way. Chain driven and obviously with wear and tear will sound different from newer cars.

6 speed DSG fitted so yes wet clutches and servicing of every 40,000 miles - different warranty applies to DSG seperate from car also.

Rear tyre wear on inside can be a fault, boot lid wiring can break and give alarm faults etc. As long as service history is 100% there should be no problem going to much higher mileage. Make sure of the spec prior to testing and make sure all equipment is fitted and works correctly.

Petrol costs and road tax would be high but if you can afford it then not much else wrong with these as they are pretty well made.
Had MKV GTI, Now Ford Falcon
