Had this car since August 2012. Over the moon with it. Had it serviced by an independent garage last month. Despite resetting with a 'Snap-On' computer, the 'Service Due' indicator still shows on starting and engine switch-off. The independent (who I'd trust with my wallet, and has serviced my cars for 15 years), insists that he's following the correct procedure and his computer was only software upgraded a month ago.

Emailing Audi UK was worse than useless - they gave me a procedure using dashboard buttons that doesn't work in my Audi and is for an older model. Spoke to their Customer Service who basically said I should use an Audi dealership for servicing (yeah, right), and refused to give me any help over the phone. They said they'd find out about this and I'd receive a callback - that's five days ago now....!

Anyone got any ideas? Is it possible to do this on this model using dashboard controls or does it HAVE to be done by computer? If so, any pointers about the Snap-On machine I can pass on to my garage guy...? Cheers, Steve

    Hi ,

    Welcome to VWAF! ...

AFAIK know there is no method using "dashboard" controls to reset service interval ...

Just a meddling owner so no idea on the Snap-On machine but I know Zollaf has one Link:- VW AUDI Forum - VWAF

Perhaps try a member off the VCDS map for a service reset Link:- VW AUDI Forum - VWAF

As you have a low post count you can PM any of the mod team to PM members ...

The Team Link:- A6_Chris , Eshrules, Mycarsavw

There is another member who has/was having a similar issue on a facelift A6 Link:- DIS Service Due Reminder Won't Reset

Does your MMI differ to DIS concerning the service rest? like in last post in above thread?

    On my 2009 A6 I just :-
On VCDS screen just click on SRI Reset

Then choose the program that you want to follow, Done.

I am set to 365 days.

    Thanks for the welcome...!

Apparently earlier A6's have a 'spanner' symbol on a button somewhere on the dash, and you use this in conjunction with the 0.0 trip reset button and turning ignition on to reset the Service Interval display...? Hasten to add this is what Audi say, and other forums, not me.... This is my first ever Audi, so still getting used to it...

    I think you're thinking of the C5.

Only the oil change can be reset via the CAR menu but everything else needs vcds or Audi diagnostic tools.

I have seen this on a C5 forum, C6 does not have this. VCDS only or Audi.

Chris, not needed to do a SRI Reset for longer than I care to remember, I have just done this on SWMBO's 2010 TDi TT and the service due bong and spanner is still there! what am I doing wrong?

    The Operation I selected was:
Flexible Oil Service Reset (LongLife/ Great Britain/Diesel),
this is the log AFTER the reset:
