I have changed my timming belt kit, and I am having some questions about this procedure. When I tighten the tensioner , its pointer move to the right about 1 mm - is it normal? After that, I turned the tensioner's nut again to the right by mistake, and the tensioner's pointer moved to the right, and now it is 1mm out of the gap, which is used for tensioning. I did this when the car's front bumper and radiators are in their place.

Now, there is such situation - when the car is cold start up, the tensioner's pointer is vibrating exactly on the gap,but when the car gets warmer, also the belt is stretching by the hot area, the pointer is way out of the gap to the right. Is it correct.

I made a big mistake, by turning the tensioner's nut without holding it, but I hope I didn't make the situation bad.Thank you for support

It is normal in my experience.

I set the pointer 'low' (to the left) so when the nut is tightened is goes into the centre and aligns where it should.

It takes a bit of trial and error to get it right.

Ok, I will take it into a acount. But the question is - does mine tensionier postion will not affect the time of exploitation of timming belt?or I should reset the timming blet, but my car is already on road, so it is a big job again, but if it is still ok,then I will not pay attention on it. As I explored, the tensioner is on mark when the engine is cold, but when it gets hotter the pointer moves to the right about 5 mm an more.

According to ElsaWin: When tightening the securing nut, the pointer may move up to 5 mm (maximum) to the right of the slot in the base plate. This position must not be corrected, because the toothed belt stretches slightly when running in.
    So it should be ok.

As long as the tensioner is on the mark when cold then all is good. And observing it moving on a warm engine/belt means it's dong its job. To properly check the timing you need VCDS to check synchro angle is 0. Adjustments, if necessary, are made by tweaking the cam sprocket after loosening the 3 locking bolts.

From practice, the best value of the syncro angle is 0.5

Yes I already adjusted the timming.I tried to get syncro angle 0, but still it was changing after some minutes idling to + 0,5 and back to 0. But when the engine is warm, the syncro angle changes from 0 to - 0,5 as the belt stretches a little bit. I could explaAIN IT SO.Am I right, or there is something wrong?
