    Hi Guys,

This is my second post since joining the forum and I must say I have picked up more advice and helpful tips on here then I have in any of the garages I have spoken too.

Hopefully I can get some help regards the DRL – LED headlights,

I was wondering if anyone else has come across a solution to stop the DRL dimming when the parking lights/Side lights are on?

When in the 0 position I can see that only the front DRL are on and they are a lot brighter then when the side lights are on(front and rear).

    Hope this makes sense.

    Any info would be grateful.

    Thanks HS

No problemo - I guessed thats what happened.

You can disable the dimming feature in VCDS and have them fully enabled when indicating and when you have the sidelights on.

Cheers Chris, I guess the next step for me now is to invest In a VCDS. You sound quiet experienced in using VCDS I take it is a fairly simple thing to change.

VCDS is a very simple program to use, a nice GUI and as your car is a C7, most options are tickboxes.

MFGF has created a list (so far) for the things that can be changed - A6 C7 VCDS Tricks

You will however need this cable for your car - http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHU.html

Expensive yes, but with that you can make your money back by doing scans for other members for a small token of appreciation

That's a fairly expensive piece of kit but as you say if I can make my money back in doing scans for others then it may just be worth it. Ive had a quick look at the VCDS thread that you have mentioned, didn't see anything regards the DRLs but I will have a proper read through. Having done a quick google search on the topic also, I have seen a few threads regards A5's and A6 - C6's but I am assuming the codes etc that are mentioned would be different to the C7.

Realistically - they shouldn't be that different, most parts are shared throughout different models.

Off the top of my head, you should be looking in either the Cent. Conv module or Cent Elec module for the dimming.

My A3 has this function so will double check tomorrow
