A6 Mileage Thread

Just hit 123k ahead of 8th birthday. Going really well although I suspect I'll need some suspension consumables soon.

Engine is sweet as a nut but then with new DMF/oil pump/intercooler/turbo/starter motor in the last 15k it bloody well should be!

I retired mine at 134,000. New owner is enjoying it and hopefully will do another 134,000 miles

Congratulations Chris. What did you go for ? Another A6 ?

I think mine is at 85K. I have had to change the inlet manifold on one side , just shy of £800 , less than a year ago. Otherwise there have not been other major repairs.

A pre-reg 65 plate A4 Black Edition TDI quattro. Loving it so far, totally different driving machine compared to the A6!

It was bought from down your way too.

My Old A6 is still alive and passed its MOT last week with 147k on the clock. Hope the new owner is still enjoying it

Still driving mine Chris....and its on 215000 miles now and still going strong.

I do miss mine , the pre-reg A4 I bought to replace it wasn’t much better so it went in March this year, now have a new model Passat

I'm thinking to keep it till it dies now.....have had little done to it aside from consumables and a dpf sensor which decided to give up the ghost in the summer. Still enjoy driving it and now I live in Oxfordshire it suits the drive into London better than the wife's A3 Sport ( which incidentally has now done 152k miles and no issues).

My A3 is still alive too, 192k and still going strong. For its last MOT I was feeling generous and treated it to a full suspension overhaul even though it didn’t need it.

Touch wood all my conrods are still nice and snug inside the block!

Same here , came close to selling it due to age but decided to keep for forseeable future , maybe till it dies ! Mainly because it’s all wheel drive Quattro and will be reassuring to drive in snow and rain.

And to top it off , over the summer I treated it to a full refurb of (the heavily kerbed !) alloys, having served me well for so long , I think it was about £240 for all 4, blasted and then resprayed.

I bought it as a preregistered car back in 2008, I don’t do many miles in it these days, mind. I think it’s about the 98,000 miles mark.
