    Title says it all really... When I switch it off it makes a weird vibrating noise in the engine bay similar to a long fart then does out... My guess is some sort of retarder that stops the engine shudder when the diesal engine is killed? Any ideas?

    Thats is your black box with lots of vacuum pipes going to.I thin its called a vacuum control box,happy to be corrected.

    It does sound like the Change Over valve venting once engine shut off.
