Hi everyone. Someone must have looked at this before. I have radio/cassette + single cd in my 2002 Golf 1.9 Tdi SE, with steering wheel controls. Can anyone tell me if a more modern unit (eg a 2003 VW POLO RCD200 CD MP3 RADIO STEREO HEAD UNIT 6Q0 035 152 C) will go straight in with the same connectors? Ideally I'd like to connect an mp3 player but the ability to play mp3 CDs would be an improvement to having a glove box full of audio cds. And naturally, I don't want to spend more than tuppence!

    Any help appreciated.

Quite some time ago, I fitted an aux & ipod connector to my Gamma by way of xcarlink This allowed me to connect up my MP3 player to play music and podcasts. You can still keep your CD player. This will be cheaper than changing the head unit and for me, it's more versatile.
