a6 2.0 tdi bad idle

Hi I have an A6 2.0 tdi Avant Sline on a 56 plate done 170 but it hunts on tick over and ive replaced the injectors airflow meter and injector loom but it still does this,have any of you had this problem and maybe you could help,thanks,and my last Avant had done 271000 miles.

Yeah mine was doing that, Replaced the EGR valve and cured it

When my other Audi needed an EGR valve the engine light came on but it doesnt on this car so if I blank the EGR valve off will that tell me if I need a new one before I buy one just to try.

Firstly Welcome to VWAF! ...

google for SSP412 Audi 2.0l , search bold text first hit should be it , view page 19, the EGR valve is electronic, it could be fault is not with that or in such a manner that not yet detected my car thus no MIL ... also view pages 16, 17, 18 they cover the EGR cooler/flap unit perhaps investigation of those as well?

I also had (have) an idle hunt issue but on a V6 3.0 TDi, I also have replaced various parts but final remedy has come after finding a fault in EGR system so I'd check that thoroughly ...
