One thing I haven't managed to work out on the Discover media system is how you randomly play tracks across all folders on the SD card. My music is organised by track within album within artist (taken straight from iTunes) but the 'shuffle' option only seems to play songs within the current album folder.

    Anyone got any tips?

Also want to know this, really liked the 'MIX' button on my old unit.

You have to put one mp3 or other music file at the top level with all the folders at a level lower down, then select random play on the top level file. It's messy but the only way I have found to do it.

Sounds like a software bug to me. I saw that the random play option was available at the top level of the SD card but it just seemed to jump to the first folder then play randomly within there.

Perhaps a later firmware release will resole this (and the fact that iPhone contact pics don't display).

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but, having just acquired an Audi, I'm new to struggling with this issue!

My mp3s are on my SD card in this structure: My Music < Artist < Album. There are also playlists both at the top of this structure and in folders further down.

My issue is the same as above - Shuffle works across either all tracks in all albums in My Music or across all tracks in all Playlists.

I've tried pcr's tip but can't achieve any difference, e.g. putting and playing a single mp3 on shuffle in Elbow folder (i.e. above the albums) still results in tracks playing from other artists' folders.

Am I being thick? (It wouldn't surprise me)! It may be that there's no way round this but I'd still love to be able to shuffle a single playlist, a single artist or a single album. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I gave up trying to achieve this. it is a pain. I rather like the totally random approach.
