None of those will work as the RNSE uses the multimedia plug on the rear

    What you need is -

AUX IN Nachrüst Set Audi RNS E Klinke mp3 Player Nootebook iPhone MiniDisk 37898 | eBay

And yes the RNSE is quadlock.

Hmm, from the description on those listing it seems they should work right? I don't really mind even if I have to take out the cd changer and connect it. Obviously the ones you specified, seems to allow the cd changer to stay in place.

When searching places like ebay, assuming I have enabled the AUX via VCDS, what do I need to be looking for, i.e. what connector type, feature etc so I know it'll work. As the links that I gave first led me to believe they would work?

What about this, it seems to be cheaper and should work right? allanmb has used this.
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-AUX-I.../130833048720?

    The listing describes:

Compatible with quadlock connection head units which has a 32pin grey connector slot
Fits all Audi models with RNS-E sat nav unit
    NOT compatible with MMI systems
Aux MUST be available to select before purchasing this lead

This one seems to be a fair bit cheaper too...

The AUX will only work if its wired in through the multimedia plug shown on my link above, it will not work if wired through the quadlock.

That link would've worked (its ended) but it wont give you the fancy little port to place on the dash, just a cable in the glovbox or wherever you want to place it for the device.

As long as any listing shows the multimedia grey plug it will work.

Cheers Chris, so you agree this would work or something like this, right?

Aha, I was wondering what that black box is, I can't see any holes? I wouldn't even know where or how to secure that box with the car lol. I think i'd be better off with a hanging 3.5 connector rather than that box lol

    Hey buddy,

I've sent a guy a message asking to use his VCDS, just waiting on a response, was just wondering, is it an obvious option to enable the AUX feature? Like an on/off in audio settings or something? Or is it more complicated like changing codes etc?

I've found this post for an adapter which i'm hoping to buy, seems a good price:

RNS-E AUDI NAVIGATION PLUS A3 A4 A6 AUDIO AUX IN ADAPTER ADAPTOR AUX-IN IPHONE | eBay

    Thanks

    You definitely need vcds.

Select 56 Radio or 37 Navigation, then press Coding 07 and change the 6th digit to a 5. (0xxxx5x). Once you have commited this change you will need to do a reset of your RNS-e by pressing Radio+Setup simultaneously until the unit restarts. Once the unit is powered back up select CD and under the sources menu you should now have AUX.

Should be 100% George although not sure how it work with the changer already there, could you check the back of your RNSE and see if its plugged into the multimedia plug thing?
