    Hi guys,

OK after the history I've had with TPMS failure, the new sensors alone haven't solved the issue.

I do now have a clear idea of the cause (aerial unit in rooflining) and have found a specialist Audi breaker that can supply the part at a very reasonable price.

I'm also not upset that the new sensors didn't resolve it. From my initial diagnosis and web research, one battery was low anyway, with the others not far behind. The batteries tend to last between 5 and 7 years.

Whilst I wait for the replacement part I decided I could take the warning beeps no more and had another go at disabling the system in the meantime.

Success, only a few minutes work and easy to re-establish when I'm ready.

    Procedure was as follows:

Remove TPMS module fuse, Fuse Location: Nearside panel, top section black, from front 3rd fuse towards windscreen orange 5 amp, as in picture.

VCDS – module 19 CAN Gateway -> Installation List untick TPMS Module 65-> > Do It -> Done

    Cycle Ignition

    VCDS – module 17 Instruments -> Coding -> Subtract 16 from your coding’s first 4 digits (Original Value 2129, changed to 2113) -> Do it -> done.

Full original number for reference was 2129443

    Cycle Ignition

According to the owners manual that 5Amp fuse also operates the air conditioner. (on right hand drive cars)
but on left hand drive this fuse only serves the TPMS.

Andy's car is prefacelift so the fuse layout may have changed compared to your facelift car.

Hi Chris, please educate me. I thought that facelift cars were all C6 2005 / 2011) and pre-facelift were C5's

    No no, prefacelift is 2004-2009

C5 is the old car and is a different setup altogether.

    Facelift is 2009-2011

Then in late 2011, the C7 took over and the C6 is no longer made.

Gocha. This explains why I couldn't match some things that were being talked about on here with my car

    Hi Roy,

Well spotted. On my version of the A6, the fuse layout is different as Chris says. For either a left or right hand drive car the TPMS is on it's own fuse. I did double check this as the info on the web I found varied from car to car (same system used in many VAG group cars, Porsche's etc), and advise different, hence me deciding to post this now I've sussed it, took several goes.

Hoping to have parts to resolve soon anyway, but the beep when it errors is very shrill and load, and keeps doing it every few mins. Also takes up top half of DIS which means you loose access to whatever info would normally be there.

Thanks for posting though, any help appreciated.
