fwiw, I think you will find the o.e. cv's are made by lobro/GKN, or at least they are an o.e supplier to VAG. I think you will get one for less at gsf eurocarparts etc. If you insist on genuine, I would try Trade Parts Specialists. I need one too unfortunately, so I'm about to find out..

Just bought a couple of outer joints for my 2003 A3 1.9 TDI which are probably very similar to the Passat. Mine are OE quality GKN/Lobro make from GSF car parts and they were £95 each though I found a 10% off promotion with a quick google so that saved me £20. Before buying these I made the mistake of buying cheap full driveshafts which must have been poor quality Chinese remanufactured ones as they were worse than the ones I was replacing - loads of play!! So go for OE quality or genuine for sure. I was quoted £160 each from Audi for each outer joint to give you an idea for comparison. They're easy to fit anyway.

    Hi All

Bought Meyle from all german parts.. £50 delivered

From what i have read they are OK and 2 years warranty ....

Fingers crossed will be done monday..

All german parts have never let me down yet on price or delivery.. always next day

I found eventually a web site which is very and i mean very similar to ecp called Car parts 4 less and they are cheaper than ecp but you will have to wait 2 or 3 days delivery

Check it out and happy motoring...

I'll have to have a look on All German Parts they sound good. Car Parts for Less sell the same bits as ECP. Though you have to have things delivered (no stores) delivery is always incredibly fast I have found.

I've not had to replace one on the passat, but just to add to Pritch's post, jandrcvjoints.co.uk are good, I got a complete replacement driveshaft for the wifes Pug 206, been on 2 years and is still fine. I'd have no worries about getting something else from them.

Oh, and the complete driveshaft inc the inner and outer cv joints etc was about the same price as a replacement outer cv joint from elsewhere.
