1995 A2 Immobiliser problems

I am posting the following on behalf of someone on another forum.

"Can anyone help me please?
My battery ran flat on my car, it’s got a remote alarm with an immobiliser, but I can’t open my car with the key remote (but I can open it with the key) and then the alarm goes off and I can’t turn it off on the remote, and because I can’t turn the alarm off on the remote I can’t start my car.

I’ve had The AA out today and they failed to start it, it must be something simple. I’ve searched on the net for answers, but I can’t find anything.

My car is a 1995 Audi S2."

As I mentioned above I posted the above for a colleague in another forum. I do not know which fob he has.

I am an A3 1.8T Sport owner by the way and love it and all Audi's.
Saving up for an R8 that I saw at the Festival of Speed this year
