Hi Guys, I need to MOT my 2002 1.9 Tdi Bora but I need to fix the rear offside passenger door as it will not open.
All central locking works on all the other doors and scanning the forums this points to the vacuum pipe breakdown in the door so as I need to open the door to access the screws so I can remove the door card,
has anyone got any ideas how this can be done with the door closed in the locked position.
I have tried removing the battery for a couple of hours in the hope it will reset everything but no success, so without going to a garage I am hoping you guys can help.
    Thanks in advance.

Something else to try that I only read in Car Mechanics this evening - try sitting in the car and use the remote to lock it, then try the inner door handle as you unlock it with the remote. It said it only works on certain types if lock failures (it was talking VWs, it meant depending on what's gone wrong with lock) but got to be worth a try before you do anything else. The same article also advised checking the wiring to the door as it can fail but I guess you need the door open to do that!

    Thanks for the info Guys.

OddbBallBoy I tried your advice with no luck

Marcelthegreat thanks for the link, I did have a look at whats involved by just looking at the nearside rear that opens but unfortunately if I took this route the car would not be secure on the drive until I found out what I need to repair the door.
So, I have booked it into a VW specialist to look at who advised worse scenario £180 inc parts, labour and vat, not my favorite option but need it sorting for MOT.

    Thanks again for responding.
