    Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with aftermarket TPMS sensors, as I have a couple out.

    Seen these:

TPMS OE REPLACEMENT TIRE SENSOR - Audi A6 A8 S8/ Volkswagen VW Phaeton/ By EMS 1 | eBay

They claim to work with the original kit and are basically the same cost for a set of four as OEM ones are each.

Worth a shot? Hoping someone can advise.

    Thanks
Current Car(s): 2003 Audi A8 4.2Q, TOP SPEC (Adaptive Cruise, Adaptive Cornering Lights, Bose, Voice Command, Extended leather including headlining, Tyre Pressure Monitoring......)

Remember if you buy genuine from an Audi dealer you will get a 2 year parts guarantee so if they should fail within 2 years, go back and get a FOC replacement.

    Thats what I would do!

Thanks for the quickest response ever!

Definitely see the point - these are only advertising a 2 year battery life. I guess the Audi ones are more, although looking through the service book they have been fairly regularly replaced.

Thing is they're at least £120 each... That's £600 for a full set, which is what I guess I need, and that's not going to happen. The system is currently disabled as it shows a malfunction.

At £30 each, it becomes viable to simply replace them with tyres, which for me is approx every 18 months.

Obviously not use if they don't work at all though!

Its probably safer to read the instructions, rather than have us guess which aftermarket TPMS unit you have and tell you where to stick that wire

But for what its worth, I'd connect the wire to an LED

Did anyone try these? I've seen identical ones on ebay that offer 1-2 year battery life, which is rubbish. But they are very cheap
