passat estate rear bumper removal

hi all, i need to fit a towbar to my 2006 passat estate, do i need to remove the boot interior trim to give me access to the rear lights so that i can remove the bumper?

There is a plastic flap that unclips exposing a plastic nut t release the rear lights.
