Hi, I'm new to the forum, I've had my 59 plate A6 2.0tdi 136bhp 40,000 miles for 5 months now. I love the look of the car and all the optional extras.
However its got the following issues,

The clutch judders on pulling away.....although Audi tech said it was not really that noticeable.

    Slight vibration about 70-75mph.

The steering feels excessively light at high speeds, car feels unstable as if slightest movement on steering could send it out of control.

I've fitted 18 inch S line alloys with 245 40 18 tyres which are XL on front and standard 93Y on the rears.

I'm planning to get the wheel alignment checked and may get 4 wheel alignment to see if any improvements noted.

I'm not sure if the light steering is normal for the A6 as used to drive a 525 and 530 BM's

Hope this one doesn't become a money pit like the previous cars!!

Definitely get your alignment done - I would recommend getting Audi to do this as it will be done to factory spec.

You may want to change the tyres to the correct load as some insurance companies may not like this as you're not using the correct load for the car's weight.

The clutches and dmf's are made of chocolate and can go at any time - try bringing the clutch up slower or your seat may just need adjusting to get the ideal position for your foot.

The steering should be heavier at high speeds and lighter at low speeds so you may want to get a fault code scan done too.

    cheers, good advice!

I've got a VAG OBD II fault code reader which has not found any fault codes, but that steering just doesn't feel right.

I've also noticed that the ESC kicks in too early on a left hand bend.

I've checked all the usual things like tyre pressures which seem ok.

Time for another visit to Audi I think.

Ideally you need VCDS or Audi to read codes as some readers won't read the car correctly and may miss codes.

In my opinion all of your symptoms could be a result of poor wheel alignment. Get that done and then reassess.
