    Hi,

Just picked my golf 1.4TSI SE but having read the manual back to front several times i can not work out how to get change the set up of the car. I dont have steering wheel controls so on the wiper stock i use the trip button (this is while the engine is on)

    I get the following

    Temp
    Time Driving
    Average Speed
    Average Consumption
    Current Consumption
    ..
    ..

What i am after is the menu to change how flashes the turn signal gives or the option when to unlock the door how many doors it unlocks as what the manual states. I have the lowline dash computer so i right in thinking that i can control these options or am i doing something wrong?

Also i dont have the leather steering wheel and chrome insert like on the match, i did buy the chrome insert and was wondering if any of you have changed the standard black steering wheel insert at the bottom over for the chrome one and if so how did you manage to do this.

    Many thanks

You don't have many options on a lowline dash. I did change my flashers but you need to find someone with VAG-COM\VCDS. Vehicle Diagnostics Equipment - VCDS Information Only

How to change the number of turn signal blinks in your VW Golf, Jetta, or wagon (GSW, JSW) 2010, 2011, or newer

Tweak 2 - Extend the Indicator Tap Flasher

Now its not a bad feature this I mainly use it on motorways but with 3 flashes by default someone could miss a couple if they aren't looking.

    Click on 09-Cent. Elect.

Then on Cent. Elect. click the Adaptation - 10 button.

Select Comfort Turn Signals (Cycle) from the combobox. That will show Channel 31 and the Stored value (default) is 3. You can change the number of blinks from 1 to 5 using the up and down buttons. Don’t bother typing numbers into the New value box as the Save button won’t be enabled. Click Save when done and then click Done, Go Back.
2010 Golf GTD (170) CBBB, 5 Door, Shadow Blue (P6/D5Q), Flat Tyre Indicator, Basic Protection Pack + VCDS.

You would need to use vagcom to make the configuration changes yes, as your car isn't fitted with required Highline computer to do it yourself.
