hey guys new to forum and hope some one can help with my audi a4 not starting

i will start from the beginning my friend purchase a car (a4 2005 blb engine) few days of driving engine started to shake like it was misfiring
so i said i can get the injectors tested to make sure they are fine so a week later i remove injectors and send them off for testing two injectors needed re shimming so once they returned i put them back in car and to my surprise car now not starting so i toe start it and it runs straight away so i turn it of with key and re start seems ok so now i give it a rev and as soon as rpm hits 4000 the engine cuts out and wont re start with key i have to tow start again and evry time im doing this it is getting worse and worse now it has got to a point where it will only run at 3000 rpm+ or it will cut out
good news is i have a spare blb engine to switch parts so this is what i have got new so far
new injector loom
new glowplugs
used tandom pump i had oil in the fuel tank and particles in fuel filter so needed to be replaced

the strange thing is their is quit hi pressure in fuel filter return pipe after engine is switched off makes huge puff sound (like an air line from compressor being disconnected) is this normal

any help would be appreciated

o yea i have checked the pulse to injectors connected with oscilloscope givving correct wave form ad used the working audi engine as reference

You need a scan with VCDS mate, it could be a simple sensor costing pennies so no point in randomly changing parts. You need 10 posts to contact a member with VCDS but someone may take a kindly view. VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps

sorry m8 i have a vas 5052 vw tool and the only codes was glow plugs
now no codes
also used the kts 570 bosch and same result

Need to check induction system, vacuum pipes, air filter, fuel filter and first I'd check the EGR

sorry for typing above i meant to say fuel filter not oil filter (found oil in oil filter so needed to change it lol)
also i will recheck the egr again in lunch break tomorrow i think their is a actuator test on the scanner
is their a manual way to test it ?

Only the full version of VCDS can test actuator. Theonly manual test I know is "is it stuck"

lol if you mean stuck closed and just clicking when ignition is switched on then possibly

how does these egr work on diesels same as petrol ? open on cruse

i will report my finding tomaro

also is the fuel return supposed to be pressurized ?

also the car runs on ether on the button

STOP using ether! EGR in a diesel reduced the amount of oxygen getting into the engine and in doing so creates soot, carbon and other nasty stuff that jams valves and makes your car run badly, EGR Valve also worsens fuel consumption in a diesel, I don't think there's much pressure on the fuel return.

just a quick update i have gone back to basics testing the fuel system took single injector out at a time and check for fuel, then put back in and same to the next injector and so on, all are showing flow of fuel
but even with the injector out with few cranks of engine the fuel filter return is pressured (defiantly is not normal)
so i checked the running car and after a few cranks no pressure in return of fuel filter

what i would like to no is is their a one way valve in the return pipe at some point

my plans for tomara is to switch the tandem pump i am unsure of the used unit i have put on the engine it was one on the shelf i had,

also i have diesel in sump
injector seals are new

is their anything else i should do at this point ?
