    Hi

Beside the high feul consumptio issue I've also discovered the oil leak at the top back of the enginine head. Is that the vacuum pump? I just assumed before it's from EGR but

Funny you should mention that..... it appears mine is wet there too..... I assumed EGR and will soon strip it off and replace any seals etc...

I wonder if this pump could somehow affect fuel comsumption. Low vacuum may fool ECU perhaps. I've got VCDS so wonder if I could check it in one of the blocks.

I assume you are referring to the Tandem fuel / vacuum pump - honest answer is I'm out of my depth there..... My gut feeling is that it wouldn't be the issue as you would have braking and other issues also if that had failed. Hopefully someone like Crasher / Zollaf may come along and offer some knowledge......

Could be diesel could be oil, check the bolts for tightness, unless its peeing out though I would think your poor fuel is something else, check the temp sensor.

temp sensor checked by VCDS. Sits on 90 C. I will change glow plugs to help short run diesel preheat. Like mentioned before it runs well

If all else is well I would defo be taking a look at the timing and making sure its bang on.... as I said in my other post setting mine properly to spec has improved low down torque - although I haven't driven enough to check the new mpg....

Pop the upper timing cover off and see if there are any tippex marks...

Seepage from air intake pipe/egr connections or cylinder head (rocker) cover gasket which run over the top of the tandem pump or as nevo says.

A picture would be so helpful here, eh s66mjetdi!? Nice to hear you've got your timing sorted.
