Topped up my oil but mis judged the amount and put 2 litres in instead of 1 when the oil light came on, all last week. Today the smoke started at low, mid n high revs and progressed to the engine stuttering/spluttering and the turbo not kicking in till about 2800rpm. Been a total bitch to drive n the smoke is immense. The engine management light came on about an hour ago n now I'm panicking. Car booked in for next Monday for service n now a diagnostic check.

i have that feeling its gonna be expensive but no idea!!!

    anyone had any similar problems???

    cheers

That's the plan. Hope the turbo ain't gone though as that's where the expense will start. Maybe it's a sign to buy a new one..... Haha

Have u checked the PCV valve? a valve which allows crankcase gas and pressure to be recirculated into the air intake. Overfilling with oil would increase the pressure thus dumping oil back into the intake, through the turbo and burnt, this could cause all sorts of bother depending how much oil was passed blocked Co2 sensors, Dpf filters, burning oil blocked injectors etc bringing on the MIL lamp and losing power

Just took the EGR valve off and the small circular disc at the end of the bar has snapped off. Luckily not back into the engine but remained in place. In a fit a new one tomoz n see if that solves it. Also just drained the oil and is now at the correct level

Egr valve now changed (£296) and all smoke has stopped. Winner. However now the air mass sensor is out so hence the turbo kicking in later. Not sure on how much they are until monday
