    Hi,

Since I have had a 2l conversion on my golf 16v it is a nightmare to start when cold. The engine is a 6a. Its fine when the engine is warm and starts up straight away. But when cold (ie. mornings, or been sitting around for quite a few hours after a drive) its very difficult to start up. I have a starter motor from a mk3 TDI and also i just put in new injectors as i was told this could solve this starting problem but no joy.

I have to keep the key turned to the full position (when cold) for about 10 secs. Its turns over and then the engine would finally start.

And its starts a bit quicker if i give it some gas.

Do you have any ideas. This is a really annoying me.
Any help or ideas will be much appreciated.

Hi there, all these have been cleaned and checked. Did you think it could be something to do with the flow meter head or the CO level.

check to see if fuel pump primes on ignition on before start?
also check the cold start injector on side of inlet
and check for air leaks past injector seals
