Hi guys, just new to this.
I was driving from North Yorkshire today backmto Bulford Camp and my VW Passat 2009 2.0TDI 170 BHP lost power, heater plug lamp started to flash and I was getting reduced throttle.
I pulled into services and called my breakdown service, he checked it and the code that came up was PO299 TurboCharger/ underboost.
Just want to know what this problem is?. Is it common and where do I need to start checking.
Many thanks for any help on this matter.
    Kelv

It helps if you say what engine. I assume it's a common rail. The boost actuator has probably failed. VW charge about £250 to supply and fit a new one. It's a common fault.

What engine code do you have. Actuator is part of turbo. If your engine is a common rail it will be a black lump with some wires connected to it. Search the forum. A member put up pics of his in the last few weeks.
