    Hi Guys and GAls

I am wondering if there is any way to update my sat nav in my 2006 A6 avant.
I am rubbish at technology, but I do have the following info
On the setup navigation screen, I see the following

    Sat Nav info.jpg
    Version Information
    Media version
    EUROPA_10300_2342
    Database version
    A614/20060806072514

Is it as simple as buying a new disc and putting it in the glove box disc player? If so, what is the cheapest way to get hold of the disc(s)?

    Many thanks in advance

    Cheers
    Steve

You have map disc version 2006, buy genuine discs off ebay and if you put them in your cd changer it'ss not work. You need to put it in the dvd drive in the boot on the left hand side behind the cover.

Thanks. Any idea what the genuine discs look like? There are loads on ebay and I want to get the right ones. How do I know which version I need? I also do not have a dvd drive in the boot, but I do have some kind of disc player in the glove box.

    Cheers

If that is your picture in the first post then you have MMI 2G High and you will have a drive in the boot, it will be behind a removable panel.

Genuine discs are priced above the rest and try eBay.de too.

Also, if the old one wont eject you will need VCDS to release the disk

Apologises. You are right. I just checked and there is a DVD nav drive in the boot. Now that you have helped identifying what type of car I have ( lol, I told you I know nothing about technology). How do I now find the right disc? There are loads on ebay. What should I be searching for?

    Cheers

I guess I want as new as possible, but it does depends on cost.
I currently have European sat nav as well as GB and Ire. I am only really interested in GB and Ire update if that is possible, but don't mind updating the European maps as well. Does them both come on one disk or are there seperate discs for Gb and another one for Europe.

Will the update also enable full post code search or just update the maps?
    Cheers

2G willl never have full postcode.

On 2G High there should only be one disc (full europe) but in 2014> they changed it to Eastern and Western.

There is a 2014 (uses the previous year map pack though) disc on eBay at the minute for £140 Genuine Audi MMI 2G DVD Sat Nav Disc 2014 | eBay
