I am considering buy 1600 tdi se do you know of anyone owning one or do you know of any reviews of them. At the moment I own a 2006 tdi se 1900 I had it remapped 3 years ago and it is perfect so I don't want to be disappointed with the 1600

i would stick with your 1.9
the 1.6 common rail diesel seems to have issues mate
they go allright but need to be thrashed to get that performance
they suffer from egr valves and ive been told of fuel pump problems and even engines by mates @VW

Thanks for that it looks like they finish the 1900 engine in 2011
how can I find out the difference between a match and a se .I don't like the s but am unsure about the match not sure which to go for

you should be able to check spec sheets through VW

I think you can if buying new but it looks like I will have to buy 2010 because after that its 1600 or 2000 cc if a sat nav is fitted to the touran do you have to pay a years subscription

It might not be much help, but we have just purchased a 2.0TDi and in my opinion I think it's the minimum needed to haul the Touran around. It still feels slower than
my 2.0TDi Passat and so I would imagine the 1.6TDi is going to be underpowered. I know that the 2.0TDi is a little more cash (and also harder to find) but I would recommend it. There are lots of the 1.6TDi around - maybe that says something... I didn't test drive a 1.6TDi so I can't offer a comparison. Cheers.

Hello, we bought a 2011 2.0TDi SE with 17k on the clock and we're very pleased with it - it's our first Touran so I can't offer a comparison with the Mk1 but drop me a line if you have any questions. We paid 15k from a dealer so a good deal I believe. Cheers.
