    Hey Guys,

What steps can I take to reduce the chance of my air suspension failing? I heard someone mention changing the compressor relay fuse?

Yep - cheap fix, the relay is under the front passenger carpet and there are posts on here about how to do it. From recollection it's about £10 for the part and is a fairly straightforward DIY. Definitely worth doing as they can wear to the point where they bridge and then the compressor keeps running until it burns out which is the wrong side of £1k to sort out.

Apart from that, be very wary of wading through deep puddles - the compressor is on the left hand side of the engine bay at the front bottom (down by the intercooler). In other words ideally positioned to hoover up puddles thereby killing it.

Not aware of anything else - I did see something on a forum somewhere about not leaving it in dynamic mode all the time but never found anything to substantiate that (and I think the 'sport' models are in what amounts to dynamic all the time anyway) and mine lives in dynamic all the time because the ride is better.

Definitely change the relay. It is a well known issue and it’s only a 10 minute job to change, it cost me a small fortune. Make sure you get the replacement relay from Audi (about £15) and tell them what it’s for, they upgraded the relay a few years ago and I think it has a different part number from the original. It’s in the passenger foootwell near the orange fuse. See this post for more info> Please Help A8 Air suspension light is on
