New Audi A3 problems.. loud turbo noise and brake servo failure

hi All,
My wife bought a new audi a3 1.4tfsi sport (s-tronic) 2 weeks ago,
after 1 week it has developed a loud whooshing noise from the engine, audi say they know about it and are working on a fix. does anyone else have this issue?
also the brake servo failed, a vacuum hose came loose.
We are concerned that the 2 maybe related.

again has anyone had issues with a vacuum hose on the new a3

******** to that - get to the dealer and leave it with them. You shouldn't be messing about with a 2 week old car.

Get them to sort it and if not, reject it under the SOG act.

There is a problem with rattling Turbo Linkages on 1.4TFSI's. Audi are indeed aware of it and a fix is apparently going to be released imminently. I'm not sure if this would result in the 'whooshing' noise, but it's possibly related.

What Car ? mag. have this issue with their 122 bhp A3 Our cars: Audi A3 Sportback - August - What Car?

Their guy is getting brassed off. You might like to draw his attention to the scale of the problem. You never know what effect a bit of heat from a national mag. might have on Audi.

As an aside I would guess any attempt to reject the car under the S.O.G. act would stand as much chance as a snowflake in hell because the car is driveable (presumably without safety or reliability issues) and the fault fixable. IIRR the law says the supplier must be given reasonable opportunity to fix the fault and reasonable is usually interpreted in a fairly relaxed fashion. All parties have an interest in an effective, long term solution which will take time to develop & test. Audi is not the turbo maker so its not just one party involved which will tend to stretch timescales.

Just wondering how you got on with this. I picked up new Audi A3 1.4 tfsi sport last wednesday and within 3 hours and with only 40 miles on clock brakes failed. Had also had whooshing noise and then engine over revving.
