Rear lights are very simple mate. just undo the 2 plastic bolts in the outer rears but dont drop them as they will disappear into the bodywork!

Rear inners are nuts and are ok to remove, but much easier if you remove the plastic cover on the tailgate.

Front lights require front bumper to be removed as there are inaccessible bolts with it on. not too hard tho, have a look on my-gti.com to find out how to remove them. its only a few torx bolts

Hi don't remove whole of bumper just the bump caps, flat blade screw driver will do, behind this you can see the lower bolts for headlamp unit use a magnetic torx set and you should be fine. Have done this twice on my headlight units.

You dont need to replace them, just dry them out. Once you have taken them off, put them somewhere warm or use a hairdryer to remove any condensation, then tape a small bag of silica gel inside the headlight (its the stuff you get when the mrs buys new shoes!) put all the caps and covers back on while in the house and they are nice and warm then refit them. The silica gel has stopped mine misting up for years.
