    Hi all,
I need to buy some towing mirrors for my TDI 170, the shape of the mirror housing means my current towing mirrors won't fit. Has anyone bought any towing mirrors recently and can advise me which will fit well and do the job.

    Thank you in advance

    Mark.

Just purchased Milenco Aero mirrors set cost £45 for a pair. very robust attach with clamps that clamp on mirror housing I tried them on the bottom part of my mirror (it is nice and straight) and they are very firm. I have not driven with them as my Caravan is not arriving till next week, but my brother in law who is very experienced swears by them no vibration or swing from passing traffic like rubber fixings.

Cheers Richard, just visited their website and watched the videos looks like I will be going with Milenco, hope the clamps don't scratch though.

The clamps have a rubber pad and replacement pads are a standard spare part.Clamping on the bottom of the mirror should hide any scratches if they do ocurr and I am like you I dont want any marks on the paintwork. The rubber band type tend to mark the mirror due to vibration a couple pf friends have advised me.

    Hi Mark,

I wouls definately advise you to buy the 'suck and see' mirrors.
They are a nice compact size, yet remain very effective in terms of what you can see behind.
The best thing about them is that they are fully adjustable through your cars electric mirror adjustment.
I have used these for about 6 years now and they are a top bit of kit.
I have never had one detach itself while I have been driving, but they do come with a discrete safety elastic cable.
There used to be a video on youtube showing the mirrors being tested on a motorbike at speeds of 120 mph (I think)
I wouldnt use any other type any more!!!

    I hope this helps.
