    Just a quick question....

Do you think it's worth getting the MOT done from a Audi main dealer or an independant garage?

Mine's due soon and was wondering what would be the advantages getting it done by Audi.

    Cheers

it really makes no difference as long as its done properly and by the book. if things are passed that should fail, or failed when they should pass, then thats when the problems start.

Remember if your car fails you get £750 protection should it fail from Audi.

So I read this as, you have your service done at Audi and then they will MOT your car for £49.99, if it fails they will give you £750??

Does this not mean they check everything in the service, so it can't. Fail?

I've read the Ts and Cs and it says any VAT registered Garage.

This MOT protection is a bit of an eye-opener and has got me reconsidering using my regular guy over the years as he's not VAT registered but very good and cheap..........

Obviously you need to check the terms and conditions on their website and face to face with the dealer.

A few years ago I was getting new tyres from a tyre centre in a city in the North of England and was told that they do all the MOT's for the Audi dealer.

I read it as this would really be impossible. They would tell you at the service you need the work done. If you don't have that work done and the car fails, this wouldn't be covered for that work.

I'd put money on it that audi don't pay £750 out much, if at all! They will pick the work up at the service (you have to have a service for the MOT protection)
