Just wondering if 195/65/15 wheels will fit ok on a MK4 58 Ibiza Ecomotive ?
    Not worried about the odometer.
Just want to know if the tyres are going to touch the body, suspension, etc or not.
    thank you

    Hello,
Today replaced the old/original wheels with the Audi A3 19565R15.
Yes they are bigger, but... they do not rub on the plastic covers, even if full lock I have 1 finger clearance (1cm).
Car is a bit higher so better for pot holes and bumps
However I would like your suggestions about the following points:
    1) the centre bore is the same diameter but it does not stick out as the old/original rims, all the way through the old ones, but only about 1cm or less on the new ones (see pictures) But the ET is the same as Ibiza.
Does this mean the new wheels are not well secured ?
    2) the acceleration has gone, does it mean they are too heavy for the car ?
But many ibizas have 17" on them and no problem.
Will braking also be affected ?
    3) will the bearings suffer and die prematurely ?
    4) less fuel efficiency with big wheels ? Same time the acceleration peaks are gone, so no extra fuel injected for that ?

    Thank you

    Hi
Did you leave the original audi tyres on? or fit lower profile new ones?
If you left the original tyres on you may have a higher rolling radius which would have affected the gearing hence slower acceleration, possibly inaccurate speedo reading and higher fuel consumption. Yes you will get 17 in rims on an Ibiza but you will find they have put a lower profile tyre on to keep the rolling radius the same. i.e. Rim size plus tyre size = rolling radius.

they look fine. as long as the hole in the middle of the wheel is fitting over the hub and is a good fit, then thats fine. the alloys are just deeper than the steels, so no problem there. if the hole in the wheel is bigger then you use spigot rings, just a ring, to fill the gap.
as long as the wheel nuts are going in the same number of turns then thats ok as well.
